Environment description: Collection site has 5% slope, southern aspect, clay loam soil with pebbly surface. Area is moderately grazed. Site is in Omernick Ecoregion, Level IV-Owyhee Uplands and Canyons(80f).

Associated species: Juniperus occidentalis, Artemisia tridentata, Ribes cereum, Chrysothamnus nauseosa, Poa bulbosa, Poa sp., Balsamorhiza sagittata.
Comment: Original seed collected in 2006 from 5 plants as individuals(20-70 seed per plant, 175 seed total). Seed was started in 2007 for molecular marker work. The 40 surviving seedlings were saved for regeneration and tranplanted to the field in spring 2009.
