Environment description: Mowed turf in moist soil near pond.
Comment: DESCRIPTION: Single, small variegated shoot with bright white longitudinal stripes visible on leaf blades; the piece was brought in for study and later rooted under mist.; SUB-COUNTRY GEO 2: Washington, DC; MISCELLANEOUS INFORMATION ABOUT WILD COLLECTION: Found in turf area while mowing. The setting is cultivated (mowed) but the plant was naturally occurring there.;
