Narrative
The mean plant height of YZ01-1413 was 225.52 cm; the average stalk diameter of YZ01-1413 was 2.75 cm; the stool growth habit of YZ01-1413 was erect; the adherence of leaf sheath was weak. For the internode parts, the shape of internodes was cylindrical; the color was Kelly either exposed to sun or not. For the node, the wax ring was strong; the width of root band was medium and Kelly in color; its bud tip in relation to growth ring was clearly above; the bud shape was oval; its position of bud base in relation to leaf scar was even. For the leaf sheath, the hairs (groups 57 and 60) was absent or very few; the shape of ligule was deltoid; the shape of underlapping auricle was deltoid; the shape of overlapping auricle was transitional; the color of dewlap was Kelly. For leaf blade, its width at the longitudinal midpoint was medium; there was serration of margin. Its midrib width of leaf was wide.YZ01-1413 is highly resistant to smut (caused by Sporisorium scitamineum (Syd.)) and resistant to drought.

YZ01-1413 was selected from cross Yuetang85-177 x ROC10. The female parent, Yuetang85-177, was a cultivar developed by Guangzhou Sugar Industry Research Institute, China. The male parent ROC10 was a cultivar developed by Taiwan Sugar Research Institute. The grandparents of YZ01-1413 were Yuetang57-423, CP57-416, CP72-1312,ROC5, and F152. The great grandparents of YZ01-1413 were F108, F134, CP47-143, CP53-17, CP65-357, CP56-63, F146, F152, H32-8560, and PT43-52.
