Narrative
A 5014C is a conventional soybean cultivar with relative maturity of 5.0, well adapted to Arkansas and other southern states. It has a determinate growth habit, oval dark-green leaves, purple flower color, tawny pubescence, and tan pod wall. Seeds of UA 5014C have yellow cotyledons with dull yellow seed coats and black hila. UA 5014C has an average seed size of 14.5 g/100 seeds, with 398 g/kg of protein and 201 g/kg of oil. Plants of UA 5014C are 69 cm tall at maturity and resistant to lodging. UA 5014C is resistant to southern stem canker (Diaporthe phaseolorum (Cooke and Ellis) Sacc. var. meridionales F.A. Fernandez), moderately resistant to sudden death syndrome (Fusarium solani (Mart.) Sacc. f. sp. Glycines) and frogeye leaf spot (Cercospora sojina), and susceptible to races 2, 3, 5, and 14 of soybean cyst nematode (Heterodera glycines lchinohe), southern root-knot nematode, Meloidogyne incognita ((Kofoid and White) Chitwood), and reniform nematode, Rotylenchulus reniformis (Linford and Oliveira).
