Narrative
According to the donor (email of 2014-12-19) "The Murraya exotica is actually Murraya ovatifoliolata. Some "experts" will tell you this is not a "good species" but rather just a form of paniculata or exotica, but that is a load of rubbish. It is distinct morphologically and many years ago I did some isozymes on it and found it was homozygous at a different Rf position; I also produced some hybrids with paniculata and got heterozygous banding...probably would have made an interesting paper but I have to stay focussed on issues of commercial relevance. I don't think it has much value from a citriculture point-of-view but worth having in your collection... It produces a lot less flowers and fruit than paniculata/exotica, so I was lucky to get seed when gathering the Micromelum." (RR Krueger, 2015-03-03)
