UA 5213C has a relative maturity of 5.2; it matures 2 days later than 5002T and 3 days later than AG 4903. It has a determinate growth habit, oval dark-green leaves, purple flowers, gray pubescence, and a tan pod wall. UA 5213C has a height of 75 cm at maturity, which is 7 cm taller than 5002T, and is 7- to 9-cm shorter than the Roundup Ready indeterminate cultivars DK 4866 (Delta King Seed Company, McCrory, AR), AG 4403, and AG 4903 (Monsanto Co., Creve Coeur, MO). UA 5213C has a lodging score of 2.1, which is similar to that of 5002T and AG 4903. Seed of UA 5213C weigh 13.1 g per 100 seeds on average and have yellow cotyledons, dull yellow seed coats, and a mixture of buff and imperfect black hila. UA 5213C seed have 410 g kg-1 of protein and 198 g kg-1 of oil, which are similar to the checks 5002T, DK 4866, AG 4403, and AG 4903.

Pedigree
Description:
UA 5213C originated from the cross between University of Arkansas breeding lines R98-1523 and R93-171. Both parental lines had reasonable yields and were fairly well adapted to Arkansas. The cross R98-1523 x R93-171 was made in the field during the summer of 2001 in Fayetteville, AR. The F1 plants were grown in the summer of 2002 in Fayetteville, AR. The subsequent segregating plant populations were advanced from the F2 to the F4 generations using using the modified single-pod descent method.
