Environment description: Collection site is the side of an agricultural field in a flat valley. Site is salty with northern aspect. Population is probably weedy.
Number of plants sampled: 50
Associated species: Trichodesma incana, Artemisia serotina, Kochia prostrata
Comment: Seed collected from 50 plants in a population of approximately 100 plants found in a 500 sq meter area. Lactuca plants were frequent and irregularly distributed at this site. Plants were up to 1.5m high, inflorescence more or less branched. Stems white, aspirate. Leaves lanceolate, pinnate-acute-lobate, rarely entire, hard, dark green. Inflorescence lax paniculate. Capitula 10-12mm long. Flowers yellow. Plants not well developed.
