Description:
M713 Ren2 was developed from crossing Gossypium hirsutum Sure-Grow747, SG747, (PI 656375) to photoperiodic G. barbadense accession GB713 (PI 608139). Day-neutral plants were selected in the F2 and screened with SSR markers. Selected F2 plants were backcrossed to SG747 and advanced to the BC1F2. Selected BC1F2 plants based on markers were backcrossed to SG747 and advanced to the BC2F2. A resistant BC2F2 plant based on marker selection was advanced by self pollination to the BC2F4.
