Environment description: mixed deciduous forest; oak dominated; dry mesic; growing in association with Viburnum schensianum, Quercus dentata, Quercus aliena, Quercus variabilis, Continu coggygria, Rhus chinensis, Forsythia suspensa, Carpinus turczaninovii, Sophora flavescens, 15? slope, thin.rocky
Comment: Tree: single trunk with very strong horizontal branching. Bark-deeply furrowed. Leaves-elliptic, bristle-tipped along entire length, green above and below. Fruit-fringed cupule covering approximately two-thirds of acorn; acorn slightly elongate, 1.75cm wide x 2.0cm long; collected from one tree on hilltop., Seed was collected with one herbarium sample (WILD)
