Habitat: Wild Habitat
Environment description: Roadside; low, scrubby growth; mixed deciduous species. Growing in rocky, thin soil. Slope: 0 to 15 degrees. Aspect: East. Elevation: 4784 feet.
Associated species: Quercus wutaishanica (listed as Q. liaotungensis); Rosa sp.; Ostryopsis davidiana; Quercus dentata; Cotoneaster divaricatus; Pinus tabuliformis; Crataegus sp.; Forsytha suspensa.
Comment: Multi-stemmed shrub, 3-4 m in height. Bark: brown with prominent orange lenticels. Leaves: opposite. Fruit collected from several plants. Seed was collected with six herbarium samples.
