Locality: Sichuan Province, Rongjing County, In a narrow valley on a west facing hillside on the road between Rongjing and the pass on Niba Shan.
Environment description: Frequent, in full sun in a narrow valley on a hillside, W, Gritty loam, Dense secondary shrubs
Comment: A deciduous shrub to 5m, with oval acuminate leaf to 13cm x 4cm with point twisted, dull matt green above with dull red/brown central vein, pale yellow/green below with fawn pubescence in vein axils, petiole to 1.5cm dull red/brown above, capsules with persistent style to 7mm on racemes to 20cm.
