Environment description: Growing along road by lakes(bay) shore with oak, sasa bamboo, Sorbus, Rosa, Rubus parvifolius, Polygonium and many mosquitos.
Comment: Small multi stem treeto 5 m tall. Fruit red and mostly mature, about 1.2 cm diameter, collected from several trees. Normally M. toringo occurs near the sea and M. baccata occurs inland. This is an unusual population of M. Baccata at low elevation and next to the sea. Also the most northern site we will visit on this trip
