Narrative
This accession was sampled during a visit to the University of Puerto Rico Agricultural Experiment Station at Corozal in the winter of 1996. It was of high quality and was imported from that source. It should be compared to the other accessions of Chironja, PI 539489 = RCRC 3909 and PI 654834 = RCRC 4045. (RR Krueger, 10/08/2009)

Description:
"Chironja" is a generic term used in Puerto Rico for hybrids of sweet orange (C sinensis), which is called "china" in Puerto Rico, and grapefruit (C x paradisi), which is "toronja" in most Spanish-speaking countries. Hence, "china" + "toronja" = "chironja".
