Locality: Southern shore of Meng Reservoir, and also west of the reservoir below the dam, Sioux County.
Coordinates: 40.9572, -103.5917 (Map it)
Elevation: 1120m.
Georeference protocol: Lat/lon determined by GPS
Environment description: Exposed moist mud of reservoir shore, and also seasonally wet area below dam (where seasonally high water prevents growth of most terrestrial plant species). Associated with Chenopodium glaucum, Eleocharis, and Scirpus.
Comment: Population of approximately 1,000. Since no seeds could be collected, we dug up living plants and brought them to a greenhouse in Ames, Iowa for seed production.

The leaf blades are broader than is typical of Chenopodium glaucum, and they are especially broad in the seedling stage. Plants erect 25 cm tall in a greenhouse October 2009.
