Narrative
Developed to preserve germplasm of awned wheatgrass and to provide seed of locally adapted material for conservation, re-vegetation and reclamation purposes at a reasonable cost. Numbers of reproductive tillers ranged from 32 to 135 with a mean value of 52. Plant height was less variable ranging from 66 to 84 cm and a mean of 74 cm. Mean crown circumference was 42 cm and ranged from 35 to 64 cm. Mean number of days to anthesis was 192 and the range was 188 to 194.
