Environment description: Moist woods along edge of seasonally moist rocky run; stream valley running roughly west-southwest., slope 30 degrees, aspect W, Growing in association with Pinus tabuliformis, Betula platyphylla, Chrysanthemum, Daphne giraldii, Corylus heterophylla, Lespedeza, Populus, Malus baccata, Crataegus kansuensis, Moist, deep forest soils
