Comment: Frequent population abundance with irregular distribution. >100 plants found. Most fruits already fallen at time of collection.

Environment description: Scattered on roadsides and edges of open, dry woods.
Number of plants sampled: 19
Associated species: Cornus drummondii, Quercus alba, Quercus rubra, Quercus muehlenbergii, Quercus stellata, Quercus marilandica, Quercus velutina, Carya ovata, Viburnum prunifolium, Toxicodendron radicans, Lonicera maackia, Juniperus virginiana, and Fraxinus americana.
Comment: Frequent to abundant. Fruits were bright red at time of collection (recently reached maturity). Noted hundreds of specimens.
