Locality: Da Xi Yuan village, Shexian County, Qingliang Peak Reserve: Houershi. Valley called Da Xi, which supposedly means Elephant-Lion Valley.

Environment description: Small mountain village nestled along mountain stream. Cultivated fields in small patches along surrounding hillsides. Slope 20-60 degrees. Soil gravely, rocky.
