Environment description: Growing in partial shade in a heavily disturbed area in association with cultivated Larix sp.; other spontaneous plants include Philadelphus sp., Schisandra chinensis, Betula platyphylla, numerous grasses and other herbaceous plants.
Comment: Deciduous, multi-stemmed upright arching shrub to 2.5 meters tall; fruits are elongated oval-shaped, reddish-orange with persistant calyx.
