Narrative
Collected from seed storage of shepherds' camp. Grown in the local area. Seeds desi-type, very small, reddish brown to nearly black, variable, mixed with a few cream-colored kabuli types. Esteemed for its seed quality and flavor. Used boiled in soups and sometimes as a dessert. Planted at time of Pyrus flowering (March), harvested end of June or first part of July.
