Environment description: Plants growing in fallow fields and batha formations. Terra rosa-like, loam soil with medium stones and good drainage. Plants growing with segetal herbs and grasses, Phlomis, Pistacia, Avena sterilis, and Euphorbia. Zone of transition from var. subventricosa, which is commonest to the north, and var. biaristata, which is rare and found mostly south.
