Pyrus pashia - local Urdu name 'Batanji'. Seeds collected in the wild by M. Thompson and D. Brenner on 11 October, 1988 in Pakistan (Azad Kashmir Province, Muzaffarabad District) near town of Subri, about 6 km SE of Muzaffarabad. Trees growing at edge of terraced farms in river valley at 770 m elevation; Latitude 34 20' N, Longitude 73 33' E. Collectors note 'fruits still hard but seeds appeared mature.' - Collection notebook, 1988.
