Snow cover 50cm. Minimum temperature -28C. Tree deciduous, 7.6-9.1m tall. Branches spreading very brittle. Bark rough, light gray. Leaves deep green above, impressed. Growing in a marsh moor, open area; only tree in this habitat. Seed collected from 5 trees.
