Narrative
The stock is segregating because the mutation is homozygotic lethal. The mutation is dominant, narrow leaf plants are heterozgotes, homozygotic lethal. In each generation, the plants with normal leaves are genetically normal, they have to be discarded before breeding experiments start. The plants with narrow leaves (heterozygotes) must be artif. self poll. because the style is longer than the anthers. Pollen of a flower on its own style, several flowers per plant, seed set very low! Mutant carries reciprocal chrom. translocation. Inherit. by egg cells, rarely through pollen
