Narrative
Medium textured turf-type tall fescue, provides greater density and darker color than most currently available varieties. Superior heat and drought tolerance, moderately good resistance to brown patch caused by Rhizoctonia solani, fair resistance to Helminthosporium blight incited by Helminthosporium dictyoides. Useful for production of medium low maintenance turf in either full sun or moderate shade.

Description:
Equal numbers of vegetative tillers from each of the three parental clones, collected from Wilmington, NC, Sumter, SC, and Greenwood SC, were propagated and an isolated breeder nursery of randomized plants was established. Desirable material was allowed to interpollinate to produce SYN-1.
