a rejected (nom. rej.), heterotypic synonym (Shenzhen ICN Art. 14.4 & App. IV) of Pentaptera arjuna Roxb. ex DC., nom. cons., but potentially available for use if the two are treated as separate species (Shenzhen ICN Art. 14.6)
its type is believed to belong to Terminalia arjuna, not to the species elsewhere known as T. alata Roth, a name which should perhaps now be accepted
