Type = Cherry. Historic tree, approximately 1,400 years old. Designated by Japanese government as a Precious Natural Monument on October 21, 1922. Petals pink-tinged in late bud and early bloom, then white, turning gray just before falling. Flowering cherry. Stately in appearance and beautiful to behold. One of the oldest flowering cherry trees in the world.
