Narrative
Deciduous large shrub to 7 meters. Leaves ovate-orbicular, to 10 mm long, with short prominently awned teeth, glabrous above, sparingly stellate-pubescent when young. Racemes several flowered. Flowers about 1 mm long. Native to Japan. Probable hardiness to USDA Zone 7. Plants offered were grown from seed collected in the wild.
