Environment description: Large patch running up a slight gully in a scree slope. River valley in mountains; full sun; 40 degree slope; aspect north; soil texture: shattered slate, many stones; well drained.
Associated species: Artemisia and Prunus kuramica.
Comment: Several plants sampled.

Narrative
Possible ornamental ground cover in arid regions. Plants +/-0.5 meter tall. Plants look different from other Ampelopsis collections; leaves look thicker and berries blue-black rather than orange. Berries +/-6 mm diameter, in few-fruited clusters.
