Locality: Near Bhatander, Swat district, NWFP province, about 8 km west of Kalam; collected from tree beside road - about 7m from river - on road to Utrot; general topography = river valley in the mountains

Environment description: Full sun exposure; 50 degree slop; silt among rocks; many stones; good drainage; surrounded by Cedrus deodara, Pinus wallichii, Quercus baloot, Aver, Sorbaria

Type = Cherry. Per the collection observation notes of Maxine Thompson: "Harvest before August 19; fruit .55g, oval; no juice color; skin color, black; very poor eating quality - tastes bitter; moderately firm, moderately juicy; seed spherical; gall insect on fruit; used locally as fodder; fruit 10mm X 9mm; mean 9fruit/cluster (range 2-12); many fruits had already dropped at time of collection, but more were ripe on tree; extremely productive compared to other trees with no or very light crops."
