Narrative
Type = Almond. This accession has been part of the University of California, Davis Pomology Dept. collection for at least 40 yrs. It may have been obtained in the 1915 period of introduction. Species dominant in slopes of Russian Turkistan where it grows at 800 to 2500 meters in large forests. Tree small with small, pointed, flat nut that is smooth and polished. Kernal usually bitter but some sweet forms occur.
