Narrative
Hardy and well adapted to the Swedish (origin) climate. High yield (8-10 tons/ha) and berries ripen uniformly. Upright, slow spreading to 12 inches tall. Berries are medium large, a dark red, with uniform ripening. Sanna is a high producer in Sweden yielding over 1.25 lbs per bush or about 6 tons per acre. Produces best with cross pollination. --Fall Creek Nursery Catalog, 1997.'Sanna' originated by Professor Sven Dahlbro, Copenhagen, Sweden. Grown from seed collected in Smaland, Sweden and evaluated as selection number BV-35. Named and released in 1987 by the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, Balsgard. Erect shoots 15-25 cm in height, flowering late May in southern Sweden. Fruits red, globose, ripening in mid August. Fruits comparable in size to 'Sussi'. -- E.J. Stang. 1994.
