Locality: Collected in Bagnotar, Hazara, 22 km northwest of Nathiagali, from a tree growing out of a rock retaining wall at a curve in the road - in a shallow gully.
Coordinates: 34.1833, 73.3333 (Map it)
Elevation: 1400m.
Environment description: Steep mountain slopes. Full sun exposure, 75 degree slope, western aspect. Silty loam soil, some stoniness, well-drained.

Comment: Associated vegetation: reforested with young pines, Diospyros lotus, Pistacia, Pyrus pashia (natural area of Pinus roxburghii).

Collector's notes: Tree height 10m, 8m wide. Young shoots red. Female. Fruit length 8mm, width 7mm, shape globase. Yellow pericarp, greenish-tan endocarp, light green embryo. Leaf galls found. Three fruit clusters per shoot. Nuts may not be mature enough to have viable embryos. Some nuts with discoloration
