Full name as recorded at the U.S. National Arboretum: Anisacanthus quadrifidus var. wrightii 'San Antonio Red'. Received as 'Flame Red'. According to the web listing for this clone at Almost Eden, the actual cultivar name (mentioned in the description) is 'San Antonio Red'. There is no clone known as 'Flame Red', which appears to be erroneously derived from one of the species' common names, "flame acanthus," along with its actual cultivar epithet.
