Cutting-grown from a seedling being evaluated by Michael Zablonski (nephew of Tom Krenitsky, whose P. mume introductions have long been introduced by Camellia Forest); he is evaluating it for black knot resistance. Given to Dr. Richard Olsen while visiting North Carolina.
