Narrative
FAES1319 was released based on it its superior performance across wide geographic areas in the 2013-2017 and 2019-2023 National Turfgrass Evaluation Program Zoysiagrass Trials. 'FAES1319' was the highest rated entry for turfgrass quality in the 2019-2023 trial. It has also exhibited improved drought and shade tolerance compared to other commercial cultivars of Z. japonica. Foundation plant stock is maintained by Florida Foundation Seed Producers, Inc., and the Agronomy Department of the University of Florida.

Description:
'FAES1319' was selected from a cultivated area in Palm Beach County, Florida. The cultivated area was a levee planted with an unknown Z. matrella. FAES1319 was identified as differing from all other zoysiagrass on the levell. It was a small plant measuring approximately 10 cm in diameter. the entire plant was removed from the levell.
