Narrative
USDA-ARS-GDS-880dt1-t2 is the backcrossed-derived near-isogenic tall determinate version of determinate (dt1) DS-880. It has purple flowers, tawny pubescence, tan pod walls, black hila, and yellow seed coats. Plants are 73 cm tall and have a 1.3 lodging score (1-5 scale). Seeds weigh 14.6 g/100 seeds and have 36.8% protein and 22.3% oil (dry weight basis). USDA-ARS-GDS-880dt1-t2 has the dt1-t2 allele for stem termination. It is moderately resistant to both frogeye leaf spot (Cercospora sojina) and charcoal rot (Macrophomina phaseolina).

DS-880 (5) x L91-8060 DS-880 (PI 659348) was derived from 'Hartwig' x (PI 437654 x 'Ripley'). Hartwig was derived from 'Forrest' (4) x PI 437654. Ripley is derived from 'Hodgson' x V68-1034. L91-8060 is the tall determinate near-isogenic version of 'Clark' (indeterminate), having six doses of Clark. Clark was derived from ancestor cultivars 'Richland' x 'Lincoln.'
