DS18-411 is an improved late MG III soybean germplasm with indeterminate stem termination, purple flowers, tawny pubescence, tan pods, brown hila, and yellow seed coats. Plants of DS18-411 are 93 cm tall and have a 1.8 lodging score (1-5 scale). Seeds weigh 10.0 g/100 seeds. DS18-411 has partial resistance (Red Brown reaction) to 16 soybean rust (Phakopsora pachyrhizi) isolates (AL04-1, AL04-3, AU79-1, BZ01-1, BZ01-2, CO04-2, HW98-1, IN73-1, LA04-1, PG01-2, PH77-1, SA01-1, TW72-1, TW80-2, TH02-1, and ZM01-1) and susceptibility (TAN reaction) to MS06-1b. DS18-411 had 8% yield loss under heavy soybean rust pressure in Paraguay, whereas L87-0482 (Rpp4) suffered 26% yield loss and susceptible check S07-5049 had 44% yield loss. DS18-411 is resistant to Phytophthora root and stem rot (Phytophthora sojae) races 1, 3, 4, 7, 17, and 25.

Description:
L87-0482 (PI 547879) x GC84051-9-1 L87-0482 was developed by ARS as a backcross near-isogenic line of 'Williams 82' with Rpp4 resistance derived from PI 459025. GC84051-9-1 was developed by the World Vegetable Center (formerly the Asian Vegetable Research and Development Center) and is derived from 'Tainung No. 4' x ('Shih Shih' x 'SRF 400'). Tainung No. 4 (PI 368039) was developed from ‘Nungshih H-11’ x PI 200492 by the Taiwan Agricultural Research Institute, Shih Shih (PI 262181) is from Japan. SRF 400 (PI 548682) was developed by the Soybean Research Foundation. PI 200492 has the Rpp1a gene for resistance to soybean rust.
