Comment: Multi-stemmed, deciduous, herbaceous perennials with largely unbranched stems to 1.6 meters tall; inflorescences branched on top with brown capsules, each containing hundreds of tiny round seeds. An unusual form of Hibiscus moscheutos that has no purple-red centers and pure white to rosy-red flowers that are very large. Frequent occurrence. A previous collection from 0.12 miles north of this site was made by Lewandowski in 2007; the flowers were pink. It appears that there is considerable variation in this population along the Tallulah River. [Field collection notes prepared by R. Lewandowski.]
