Environment description: Upland and lowland areas of very mature, old growth woods.
Number of plants sampled: 3
Associated species: Juglans nigra, Quercus rubra, Morus alba, Tilia americana, Carya cordiformis, Quercus macrocarpa, Toxicodendron radicans, Carex pensylvanica, Smilax sp., Rosa multiflora, Gymnocladus dioicus, and Celtis occidentalis.
Comment: At time of sampling (20 September) more than half of the trees sampled had recently (e.g. 4-6 days) surpassed peak maturity. Remaining porportion of trees in the population had nuts actively dropping at time of sampling. Average distance between the three mother tree sampled is 0.20 miles. Greatest distance between samples was 0.25 miles.
