ND Rosalind (tested as ND170707) comes from the cross ND112953/ND Palomino. ND Palomino is a slow-darkening pinto cultivar released by NDSU in 2017 (Osorno et al., 2017). ND112953 is a pink breeding line from the dry bean breeding program at NDSU and was derived from the cross of PK-7-9/Merlot. Merlot is a small red cultivar released by USDA-ARS and Michigan State University (Hosfield et al., 2005). On the other hand, the breeding line PK-7-9 was developed by Dr. Phil Miklas (USDA-ARS), this line was derived from a double cross using the cultivar Matterhorn (Great northern), and the breeding lines PR96-055-2-14 and 93:677
