Locality: Mount Magazine State Park primarily localized to the northwest rim of the mountain along the trails heading west from Brown's Spring, T6N R25W Sec. 21.

Environment description: Top of sky-island mountain. Localized along the rims just above steep cliffs on north facing slopes.

Associated species: Juniperus virginiana, Sassafras albidum, Solidago nemoralis, Solidago ulmifolia, Solidago spp., Chionanthus virginicus, Quercus acerifolia, Quercus stellata, Quercus velutina, Carya texana, Carya glabra, Parthenocissus quinquefolia, Helianthus sp., Carpinus caroliniana, Rubus sp., Rosa sp., Rhus glabra, Rhus copallinum, Amelanchier arborea, and Physocarpus opulifolius.

Comment: A population of hundreds of plants within an approximately one linear mile stretch along the mountain rim. Many plants had been defoliated by insects at the time of collection. Peak seed ripening occurred during the third week of August in 2023.
