Narrative
UPR-Mp-48 has a determinate growth habit Type I, initiates flowering and matures at 33 and 85 d after planting, respectively; and has an average weight of 29.6 g per 100 seeds. Both breeding lines had over 800 kg ha-1 seed yields in Isabela, Puerto Rico. Also, UPR-Mp-37 and UPR-Mp-48 had intermediate resistance (mean scores of 4 to 5) to two inoculations of PRI21 Macrophomina phaseolina (Tassi) Goidanich isolate.
