Environment description: Edge of mature forest, below road at steep gully.
Number of plants sampled: 2
Associated species: Acer saccharum; Tilia americana var. heterophylla (as Tilia heterophylla); Liriodendron tulipifera; Quercus rubra; local Ailanthus and Paulownia in adjacent clearcut and edges (potential problem for Cladrastis).
Comment: Collected from two trees, each about 15 cm DBH. Latitude and longitude collected for both trees; coordinates of second tree: 36.65185° N, 84.26717° W. Collected by Julian Campbell with Jim Scheff (climber), and Tina Johnson.
