Environment description: Moist and dry slopes. Woodland edges; open woods; densely shaded woods; and wooded roadsides.

Associated species: Viburnum rufidulum, Rhus aromatica, Cercis canadensis, Morus rubra, Fraxinus biltmoreana, Asclepias tuberosa, Solidago sphacelata, Silphium trifoliatum, Oxalis grandis, Quercus alba, Campsis radicans, Quercus muehlenbergii, Physostegia virginiana, Zizia aptera, Aureolaria flava, and Euphorbia corollata.

Narrative
Plants measuring 12-18" in height. Spreading vegetatively via rhizomes. Flower color on the majority of specimens is mostly white with some specimens having a hint of pink. Peak flowering at collection site occurred near 28th of May (2023). Some specimens flowering in heavy shade.
