Description:
ND Redbarn (tested as ND122454), was developed from the single cross USDK-CBB-15/ND061209. USDK-CBB-15 is an improved DRK germplasm line from the USDA-ARS grain legume genetics program at Prosser, WA and carries resistance to CBB. ND061209 is a DRK breeding line developed by North Dakota State University (NDSU) with superior agronomic performance and intermediate resistance to bacterial diseases. This line was derived from series of crosses involving other well-known DRK cultivars Red Hawk , Montcalm, and LRK cultivar Foxfire, among others. Theses crosses were designed to incorporate the anthracnose resistance of Red Hawk, the superior canning quality and resistance to halo blight of Montcalm, and the earliness of Firefox
