Name appears to be wrong in any case (the first word does not fit with any Chinese character); cannot determine the intended locality name with certainty. Valley is unnamed on Google Maps, but is near something labeled "Xiaoping" in addition to "Senjiping".]

Environment description: Steep slope at roadside, bottom of rockslide. Growing in talus with humus pockets.

Comment: Description: Medium-sized irregularly branched shrub, approximating vase-shaped habit. Height 3 m, DBH 5 cm. Bark silvery gray, smooth. Leaves to 10 cm long, 5 cm wide, margins serrate, leaf base oblique. Fruit: capsules in pendent axillary racemes, covered in abundant stellate hairs, seeds ballistically dispersed. Seeds and four herbarium specimens collected from one plant. Photographed.
