Locality: Aba (Ngawa Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture), Songpan County; Huanglong; Shijiabao. [GPS coordinates are in Xigou (valley) west of Baiyangba village, well west of Shijiabao. -SBL]

Habitat: Wild Habitat
Environment description: Mesic, mixed deciduous forest; east-running stream valley. Soil: rocks.
Associated species: Undetermined (Lauraceae): Litsea/Lindera.
Comment: Shrub, height 3 m. Bark tan, smooth. Leaves alternate, simple, ovate, dentate to crenate; 7 cm long x 4-5 cm wide. Infructescence: raceme of capsules, 4-5 cm long. Seeds collected from two plants. Four herbarium specimens collected; photographed. [Associated taxa recorded here as "undetermined (Lauraceae)" was documented as "Litsea/Lindera" in collection notes. Additionally, the "Lindera triloba" recorded is not likely to be that species, which is not present in the Flora of China but is recorded from Japan and Korea; it might be another 3-lobed Lindera such as L. obtusiloba, or another relative, such as Sassafras tzumu. -SBL]
