Hunan Sheng, China
Locality: Nanling Mountains.
Elevation: 1688m.
Habitat: Wild Habitat
Comment: Large (4"+) serrated, very pubescent foliage with auriculate leaf base and long drip tip. Covered in very small purple fruit. Very handsome. Nanling Mountains: Hiked a 5 mile loop in the pouring rain with two researchers from Chenshan Botanical Garden and our driver. Typhoon on the way. Very steep and because of the rain, very slippery walk. Extremely difficult to see anything with the wind and rain, but despite the weather, we did see some very interesting plants in fruit. Again, a well worn trail in this area with more construction going on. Appears to be a well preserved and protected area with more exploration needed.
