Environment description: Rocky limestone streambank/river bank. Slope: 5 percent. Aspect: West. Elevation: 1152 ft.
Associated species: Marandella antirrhinifolia; Platanus sp.; Phyla nodiflora.
Comment: Multi-trunked tree, washed over sideways by flood decades ago. Height 20 ft; DBH 18 in. Bark red brown. Leaves compound, thin, opposite leaflets. Seeds in woody cone. Unknown number of seeds collected and voucher collected; photographed.

Full name as recorded at U.S. National Arboretum: Taxodium distichum. See NA 85551-85592 for earlier material received from this expedition. From informal trip report published online at peckerwoodgarden.org: "In contrast to the Kneuper Ranch, the stretch of the Frio River that passed through the Annandale Ranch had beautifully clear flowing water and was lined with some impressive bald cypress. Though books and some DNA studies claim these are simply a westernmost population of Taxodium distichum, the lack of “knees” (distinctive growth habit) and other characteristics more closely resemble those of the Montezuma cypress, Taxodium mucronatum."
